COOK, Dorothy Catherine – Age 88, Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co., passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Catherine (Smith) Logan. Dorothy grew up in Halifax. She was a pioneer home maker and with her late husband moved to Labrador and lived there for 40 years, retiring to the Annapolis Valley upon her husband's retirement. Dorothy was a member of St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Middleton and of a local group of cancer survivors that met on a regular basis for meals at a local restaurant. She was an avid collector of spoons, bells, memorable coins and anything to do with Elvis. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughter, Judy (Jacques) Talbot, Kemptville, Ont.; granddaughters, Michelle Talbot (Robert Salter), Angela Montgomery and Jacqueline Talbot; great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Abigail Montgomery. Besides his parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merrill S. Cook; sisters, Maureen Fraser and Marilyn Gray; and her brother, Gordon Logan. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, in St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, 41 Connaught Ave., Middleton. Rev. Fr. John MacPherson officiating, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
