LUTZ (Spurr), Dorothy Elaine
"Dot"
– age 80 of Torbrook, Annapolis Co., passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Phinneys Cove, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Burton and Elsie Madeline (Gillis) Chute. Dorothy worked for 22 ½ years in food services at Soldiers Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Torbrook Baptist Church and participated in their Bible study. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing and was a member of the "Stitch and Chatter Club". She was loved by everyone and was extremely devoted to her family and her many friends. Dorothy will be sadly missed by daughter, Debbie Spurr, Bridgetown; grandchildren, Lee Archibald, Saskatchewan; Sandy Cross, Bridgewater; great-grandchildren, Erik Cross, Xander and Zoe Archibald; brother, Gordon (Barbara) Chute, Margaretsville, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by first husband, Bill Spurr; second husband, Bernie Lutz; sisters, Kathleen Hannam and Edna McRae; brothers, Reginald in infancy; Ronald and Eugene. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902-825-3448), from where the Memorial Service and Reception will take place 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 3. Rev. Bill McLeod officiating, with Interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
