LOWE, Dorothy "Dot" Eleanor – age 81 of Halifax, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Lawrencetown, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Elva (Gaul) Lowe. Dot was a graduate of the Mack Business College in Kentville. She was employed with Nova Scotia Light and Power Company Limited for 18 years and retired from Nova Scotia Power Corporation. During retirement she was a Mary Kay representative. She travelled extensively and loved spending Christmas in the Valley with family and friends and was always ready for a fun game of cards. Dot is survived by her brother Claude (Marion) Lowe, Lawrencetown and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Rosie Beals, Lorraine Stillwell, Faye Crowell, Leila Merry and Audrey MacQuarrie; half-sisters Elva East and Bernice Naugler and her brother, Arthur. In keeping with Dot's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in Dot's memory may be made to Fairview Cemetery, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
