Obituary

Robertson, Dorothy May-91 of Auburn, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, N.S. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Annie (Ruggles) Swift. During her younger years, Dorothy was an avid baseball player on a girl's league and loved to bowl. One year she won the title of Ladies Provincial Championship of Nova Scotia. She also belonged to a UCW ladies group of Stairs Memorial United Church before moving away from Dartmouth, for several years. Most of her life was devoted to bringing up her four children and keeping a sharp eye on her grandchildren. She is survived by her Daughter, Beatrice (Shipley), Auburn, N.S. and son William ( Evelyn), Yorkton, Sask.; sisters, Olive (Baker) Dartmouth and Elizabeth (Betty) Charlottetown, P.E.I.; daughter in law Marie, Halifax and sister in law Frances Swift, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband John; sons Kenneth Murray and John Alexander Jr., also a grandson Kenneth (Robertson); brothers Murray and Jimmy (in infancy); sisters Nina, Gloria and Marilyn. Dorothy is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9th in Mount Herman Cemetery, Dartmouth. Donations may be made to Mountain Lea Lodge (Activity Fund) or Charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St (902) 825-3448.
