Obituary

MOSHER, Douglas Clinton Laverne - age 71 of Aylesford, Kings Co., formerly of Truro, Colchester Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2013, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Waterville, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Stewart W. and Kathleen L. (Gillis) Mosher. Doug had served for 10 years as a load master in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He had drove taxi and was a long haul trucker for many years working for various firms. Doug had a great love for animals, especially dogs and horses, spending many joy filled hours at the Truro Raceway. He and Elaine had spent the last 15 years living in Colchester County and recently moved home to the Annapolis Valley. Surviving are his loving wife, J. Elaine (Johnstone) Mosher, Aylesford; children, Donnie, Bedford; Valerie, Lower Sackville; Laura, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Devan, Dartmouth; Tristan, Alberta; Kalika, Texas; sister, Linda O'Hanlon, Arizona; aunt, Helen Spencer, Waterville; several other family and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly (Schofield); grandson, Nathan; brother, Donald. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend the graveside funeral service that will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 1, in the Berwick Cemetery, Main St., Berwick. Rev. Donald R. Rafuse officiating, with a reception to follow. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or to the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Fund.
