Douglas "Doug" Totten, WO (Ret'd), CD -Aged 73 of Aylesford passed away suddenly Wednesday May 7, 2014.Born in Saint John, NB he was a son of the late Elmer and Celia Totten. Doug retired after 30 years as a Firefighter with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 Kingston and an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Doug travelled to many places in Canada and Europe with the RCAF and was especially proud of travelling every province in Canada from St. John's, NL to Victoria, BC. His infectious laugh and quick wit will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Loretta, Aylesford; daughter, Tracy (Michael) O'Rourke, Courtenay, BC; son, Doug Totten, Victoria, BC; sisters; Alberta Wiggins, Hampton, NB; Connie Keirstead, Saint John, NB; Florence "Buddy" Elliott, Tiverton, NS; brother, Donald (Debbie) Erwin, Hampton, NB; grandchildren, Kevin O'Rourke and Allison O'Rourke. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, Michael in infancy and several brothers and sisters. A legion tribute service conducted by Kingston Branch No. 98 will be held 2:00PM Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street toll free 1 (855) 825-3448. Private family interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the Kingston Legion.
