Edgar Rand Power Fiske's Obituary

FISKE, Edgar Rand Power – June 8, 1948 – age 69. It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father and Grandfather. Edgar was a son of the late Frederick Lockhart and Ella (Power) Fiske. Edgar was born and raised in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. He passed away in the QEII Halifax Infirmary on September 25th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Edgar made a successful career at the Nova Scotia Community College instructing Culinary arts, his ultimate passion being food. Edgar was an active member of both the Middleton and Yarmouth Lions clubs. When he was not spending time with family, he dedicated most of his spare time volunteering in his community. Edgar will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Alice; daughters Nicole Fiske and Shannon (Jemar) Beals, both of Lower Sackville; son Colin Fiske of Middle Sackville; brother Raymond (Debbie) Fiske of Middlefield, NS; grandchildren Kaley Branton; Christian Fiske, Jennah Fiske, Courtney Branton and Nathaniel Beals all of Lower Sackville; 5 nieces Kim, Lynda, Donya, Tammy, Jennifer and mother-in-law Kathleen Baker of Lower Sackville. Edgar was predeceased by brother, David in infancy; brother, Donald and father-in-law Frank Baker. Visitation will be held 6:00PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448 from where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 29th with Pastor Larry Pennell officiating and followed by a reception. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. In lieu of flowers, Donations in memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Diabetes Association Canada or your local food bank.
