Obituary

CORNELL, Edna Isobel – 91 of Dartmouth passed away on August 31st, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit, Windsor Nova Scotia Hospital. Formerly of Middleton and Wolfville. Born in Sydney Mines, NS she was a daughter of Arthur and Margaret Peet (Morrison). Edna loved life and was known to be feisty, loving and very humorous. She loved a good joke and sharing stories with her friends at Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth. Edna was a bookkeeper for several physicians in both Dartmouth and Middleton before retiring to her passion of gardening, painting and spending time with her six grandchildren – her late daughter Susan's children - Adam, Courtney, Whitney; her daughter Gini's son Andrew and her son Eric's children Nic and Paula. She also loved to hear stories about and receive pictures of her six great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughter Gini (Dario Ribet), Ottawa, Ontario; her son Eric (Sandra), Wabamun, Alberta; her brother Thomas Peet (Ruby), Surrey, BC and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Peet, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan (Gibbs) and her husband of 63 years, Kenneth; as well as her brother, James, and sister, Anna. Cremation has taken place. A special thanks to Tom and Polly (Baker) Peet for the compassionate time they spent with her in her final days as well as to all the staff of Palliative Care Windsor Hospital. Also thanks to the staff of Jamieson Hall, Parkland at the Lakes for making her a part of that family and for putting up with her jokes and mischief. A service and interment for family and close friends will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton on Wednesday, September 6th at 2 pm.
