MORRIS, Edna Eugenia - age 100 of Melvern Square, NS passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2015 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton and has gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born in Melvern Square, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Emelie (Saunders) Morris. Edna was a retired school teacher, having taught school in Scot's Bay before there was electricity. She taught school starting in the 1930's in such places as Bishopville, Melvern Square, Woodville, Kingston Bible College, North Kingston, Grand Pré and ended her teaching days in Port Williams after they amalgamated with Greenwich and later returned to Melvern Square in 2003. Edna loved quilting, knitting, crocheting and spending time at her cottage in Harbourville. She will be remembered for her great wit and sense of humour. Edna is respected by all her nieces and nephews and is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Ruth Morris, Melvern Square; Ann Moody, New Minas; Pearl (Winston) Magee, Louisbourg, NS; Barbara (Marvin) Messom; Kentville; Barry (Sharon) Moody, Port Royal; Aubrey (Leslie) Morris, Melvern Square; Marguerite (Gordon) Messom; New Minas; Margaret (David) McCoubrey, Middleton; Donna (Richard) Pineo, Welsford and several grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Reta Moody and brothers Arden and Donald. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Robert Cross officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in North Kingston Cemetery.
