BARRETT, Edward William – age 74 of Torbrook, NS formerly of Blandford, NS, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Dartford, England, he was the son of the late Edward William and Annie Evelyn Maud "Nancy" (Pynn) Barrett. Edward was an artist having painted in mostly oil and did some acrylic and water colour. He loved the ocean and sailing ships and enjoyed cooking, made the best homemade bread and enjoyed family get togethers. Edward will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister, Helen James, Winnersh, England; nephew, Neil (Arlene) James, Essex, England; step-children, Sandy Halloran; James "Jim" Halloran; Robert "Bob" Halloran all of Ontario; nieces, Sue Skipton; Sindy Schofield, both of Nova Scotia and nephew, Anthony "Tony" Skipton, New Brunswick . Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step-son, William "Willie" Halloran and nephew, Perry Skipton. In keeping with Edward's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family send-off will be held at later date. Donations in memory may be made to Mid-Valley Palliative Care.
