Fry, Edward Thomas "Ed" – 87 of Middleton, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor, Ontario, he was a son of the late Thomas William and Lillian (Mueller) Fry. Ed started his career with the Royal Bank of Canada in Yarmouth and made several moves before finally coming to Middleton for a total of 22 years in banking. He then bought Banner Real Estate in partnership with two others, later named Re/Max for a total of 22 years in real estate. Ed spent another 22 years in retirement. During his life, he was a 50 year member of the Rotary Club of Middleton where he served of treasurer and past president. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow. Ed was a long-standing member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church where he served as treasurer as well. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Jean (Carr), Middleton; daughter Barbara Zimonick, Kamloops, BC; son Tom Fry (Beverly Herbach), Lake Louise, AB; grandchildren, Aerin, Drew, and Cynthia; great grandchildren, Micah, Vaida, Reece, and Karis; brother Jack, Barrington Passage; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Donald and James. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton. Rev. Sue Channen officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
