Mahar, Edward George – Age 88 of Middleton, Annapolis Co., passed away Friday October 20, 2023, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in White's Corner, he was a son of the late Raymond and Laura (Gould) Mahar.

Edward served 30 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he circumnavigated the globe and served three years in Europe. He also enjoyed farming sheep, horses, and other animals. He especially loved Belgian horses.

He enjoyed going to jam sessions and listening to old bluegrass and country music. Edward loved going for drives to the shore and along the Bay of Fundy, especially Port George.

Edward is survived by his son, Kevin (Barbara), South Williamston; daughter, Stephanie (Steven) Moore, North Carolina; sister, Martha McKenzie, Winnipeg, MB; brothers, Thomas (Mae), Mississauga, ON, Vernon (Phyllis) Morden, Pat (Joanne), Burlington, Michael, Cambridge; grandchildren, Shauna Daniels, Timothy Simon, Molly Tomlik, Denelle Grimes, Jesse Moore; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews throughout Canada.

Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his daughter, Rhea Dawn Mahar; sister, Margaret; brothers, Daniel, Paul and Allison; partner, Joan Currie; several brother and sisters-in-law.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service followed by a reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448.
