CARTER, Edwina "Joan" – age 82, of Brickton, NS passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in St. John's, NL she was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Kean) Pearce. Joan was employed for many years in customer service with Sears Canada. She was a lifetime charter member of the Canadian West Highland White Terrier Club. She was also a member of IODE Rosemary Chapter, Middleton, a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and a former member of the ACW. Joan enjoyed travelling, gardening, walking and loved her cats. She will be sadly missed by daughter, Elizabeth (Larry) Milberry, Brickton; son, Kenneth (Rachelle) Carter, Dartmouth; sister, Ethel Weeks (Carl Vailloncourt), Ormandville, Que.; brothers, George Pearce, South Branch, NL; Bill (Lucy) Pearce, St. John's, NL; Randy (Linda) Pearce, Torbay, NL; grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Carter and Kenneth Milberry; great grandchildren, Emily & Lydia. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth. In keeping with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service at this time.
