FITCH, Eldon Lamont – age 83, of Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in North Kingston, on September 18, 1933, he was a son of the late Robert B. and Gladys E. (Balcom) Fitch. Eldon followed his father's footsteps working on the family dairy farm. He gathered canned milk from many farms in the valley for Jordan's Dairy. Eldon later worked several years for Twin Cities Dairy, driving the bulk truck and sold farm equipment. He owned his own farm as well as Clairmont Farm Services. In retirement, Eldon enjoyed wood working in his shop. He enjoyed watching western movies, reading Zane Grey, hunting and spending time with his border collie, "Buttons". Eldon took great pride in his beloved gardens. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Freda R. Keddy; son, Randy (Darlene) Fitch, Kingston; daughter, Tanya (Allan) Robinson, Nicholsville; grandchildren, Lucas, Evan and Dustin Fitch;  Matthew Robinson, Jennifer MacLaren, Mark Robinson, Jillian Collins and Macall Robinson; great-grandchildren, Claire, Charlotte, Sarah, Lachlan, Lucy, Hazel and Grace; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Edith (Whitney) Rainforth and Elizabeth "Betty" (Cecil) Jess. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448. Funeral service and reception will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, in Kingston United Baptist Church. Rev. Barry Dixon officiating, with interment in North Kingston Cemetery.
