Eleanor Marlene
Aalders
June 17, 1937 – October 24, 2022
AALDERS, Eleanor Marlene ~ Age 85, of Berwick, Kings Co. It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of our Mom on Monday, October 24, 2022, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born June 17, 1937, in Woodville Kings Co, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Norman) Rand.
Mom was a woman of many talents. She was an excellent cook who could take an empty fridge and create a most delicious meal. To her grandchildren she made "world famous" bread and "Grammie" rolls. She was an accomplished seamstress who instilled her love of sewing and creativity in her daughter, Roxanne. With scissors still in hand, she was a hairdresser to many--much to the chagrin of her sons. Mom worked many years at Moody Brothers groceteria where she was affectionately known as Ellie. She enjoyed reading, knitting, a good game of bridge, and spending time with family. In retirement, Eleanor and her husband Eric wintered in Brownsville, Texas for nearly two decades. After his passing, she continued to go, until poor health kept her home.
Surviving are her daughter, Roxanne Liebrock, Windsor, Ont.; sons, Randall, Barss Corner; Aaron (Patricia), Fall River; Brian (Donna), Waterville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Morse, Dartmouth; Gwen (Floyd) Peterson, Coldbrook; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil "Eric" Aalders; son, Cecil Eric "Rick" Aalders; daughter in infancy; sister, Doris Snell; brother, Boyd Rand (Valerie).
There was no visitation at the funeral home. A private family graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, in Berwick Cemetery, with Rev Deborah Longergan-Freake officiating. A public reception in celebration of her life followed from 2-4 pm, in the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 1415 County Home Road, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand View Manor or a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
