Obituary

MacASKILL, Eleanor Ward – age 79, of Berwick, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at home. Born in Springhill, on December 14, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Henry Fred and Annie Evelyn (Hayward) McIver. Eleanor retired as a Corporate Purchasing Agent at Cobi Foods, Port Williams.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved to spend winters in Florida, with 20 plus years at Oak Springs Park, Port Richey. Eleanor loved listening to country music , reading and watching sports, especially curling and hockey. Her ​nature was to care for others, including her parents, husband and sister, during their health related issues and limited independence. More recently, she would make and deliver meals to local friends. In Eleanor's later years, the joy and sparkle in her day were frequent visits from Maggie-Sarah, Lauren and her daughter, Rowan, who she loved dearly. Surviving are daughter, Sandee (the late Rick) Webster, Kingsville, Ont.; sons, Ken (Cathy) MacAskill, Brian (Donna Conrad) MacAskill, both of Berwick; Donald (Vicky) MacAskill, Grand Prairie, Alta.; grandchildren, Kristen, Caleigh, Maggie-Sarah, Ben, Lauren and Mercedes; great-granddaughter, Rowan; sister, Daphne (the late Ron) McCarther, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Daniel MacAskill; sister, Annie "Evelyn" McIver. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a time in celebration of Eleanor's life at Berwick Height's Golf Club, 3060 Hwy # 221, Weston, on Monday, July 17th at 2 pm .
