It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Libby Clark, Greenwood, NS, in Valley Hospice, Kentville, on August 29, 2025.
The youngest of three children, Libby was born on September 3, 1956, in Brampton, ON to the late Captain Clyde and Eileen (Daniels) Levy.
After the death of her father, the family moved to Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, where Libby attended school, and was active in church and community events. Several years later, as a teenager, she met a handsome young man who drove a green Mustang convertible. His name was Dale Clark. They fell in love, were married on September 14, 1974, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Besides being her beloved husband, Dale was her best friend, soulmate, and her "rock".
Libby was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She and Dale lived and raised their children, Rob and Jaime, in the Kingston-Greenwood area. Libby was the cafeteria supervisor at Kingston and District School for many years; she also worked at the Atlantic Superstore in Kingston. She was a wonderful cook – her seafood chowder was legendary! Libby loved her family, the ocean, camping, line dancing, a good seafood meal, and the fur babies who were part of the family over the years.
In their retirement years, Libby and Dale, along with their miniature schnauzer, Jake, spent many happy times in their RV, wintering in Florida, where they established many lifelong friendships, and traveling throughout North America. Among the highlights of their adventures together were a trip across Canada and the US to visit Rob and family and explore the Rocky Mountains; and in 2023, an Alaska cruise with family and friends.
Libby's life, while all too short, was lived to the fullest. She was a trooper in the face of her cancer diagnosis, meeting it with a strong will and determination. She was truly an inspiration to those around her. Resolving to make the most of her remaining time, Libby began checking items off her 'bucket list', traveling with Dale to favourite places within Nova Scotia, and sailing on the Bluenose II. The friendship and many kindnesses of "her girls", the Valley Stompers Line Dancers, will never be forgotten. After Libby became ill, they visited and performed dances in her driveway, to her great delight.
In addition to her parents, Libby was predeceased by her siblings, Marjorie Parker and Daniel Levy, and son-in-law Michael Kirby. She is survived by her children, Jaime Clark, Mount Uniacke, NS; Robert (Sarah) Clark, Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Kayley Clark, Travis Clark and Jackson and Rylen Clark; several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service 1:00PM Monday, September 8, 2025 in North Kingston Cemetery with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Donations in memory of Libby may be made to Cancer Research Society.
