Obituary

ROGERS (Potter), Elizabeth Viola ~ age 92 of Bridgetown, formerly of Shelburne, NS passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Meadowvale, she was the youngest child of the late Manning and Mary (Potter) Potter. Elizabeth was a teacher and taught elementary school for almost 35 years in several communities in Nova Scotia including Lantz, Wolfville, Wilmot, Yarmouth and Cornwallis. She enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Elizabeth will be sadly missed by stepsons, David, Alberta; Peter (Judy), New Albany; Thomas (Jennifer), New Germany; step-grandchildren, Norma Jean Rogers, London, UK; TJ (Alisha), New Germany; Clifford (Amanda), Fredericton, NB and their daughters, Jubilee and Cadence, Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Jerusha Potter, Berwick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, David (Bernice) Emeno, Moncton; Anna (Dan) Marchand, Kingston; John (Cynthia) Potter, Charlottetown; Paul (Anna) Potter, Wilmot; Mary (John) Dickinson, Bedford; and Shelley (Martin) Fleckenstein, Wolfville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Tom Rogers; sister, Winifred Emeno; brothers, Leland and Roscoe; sister-in-law, Mildred Rogers and brother-in-law, Warren Emeno. A visitation will be held from 1 pm until the time of the funeral at 2 p.m., Thursday September 19, 2019 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. toll free 1-855-825-3448 with Rev. Wayne Dooks officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service with interment being in Clementsvale United Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory may be made to the Goat Island Baptist Church Restoration Fund or to a children's charity of one's choice. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown for their compassionate care of Elizabeth during her time there.
