WATSON, Ella Marie - age 76 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Alton, NS she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Kathleen (Redden) Gray. All through her life one of her greatest joys was being on the open ocean fishing. Along with her husband, she enjoyed hunting and fishing and was well known in her younger years for fundraising for the Town of Middleton and various charities and also for being a favourite school bus driver for over 20 years. Ella also enjoyed her involvement with St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Women's League and supervising maintenance. In her retirement years, she was well renowned for her woodworking and the last number of years she loved her neighbourhood having visits in her garage and having races with Rose on her scooter and caring for the fish in the fish pond. She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Tim) Brodie, Fall River; her son, Kevin Watson, Nictaux; her sister, Edith Flemming, Herring Cove; her grandchildren, Eric Watson (Olivia Westcott), Margaretsville; Meghan Shorey, Halifax and Emily Shorey, Middleton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wilbert Gerald Watson and brothers Gerald Gray and Bernard Gray. In keeping with Ella's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A memorial mass will be held 11:00AM Monday, November 16, 2015 in St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, 41 Connaught Avenue, Middleton with Father Pat O'Meara officiating assisted by Father Jose Thomas and Rev. Deacon Donald Boudreau. Interment will be in St. Monica's Cemetery, Middleton.
