Obituary

HOOPER, Elmer Douglas -88 of Middleton, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Pictou Landing, NS, he was a son of the late James and Delina (McCallum) Hooper. Elmer was veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with R.C.O.C. He and his wife, Kay owned and operated Hoopers Jewellery Store in Middleton for many years. He was a member of Paragon Golf Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Middleton and was a past member of the Middleton Curling Club. He is survived by his wife the former Kathleen McKay; sisters, Shirley Bandurchin, Ajax, ON; June Dropko, Brantford, ON and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Roland, Welsford and Leonard. Cremation has taken place under the care of the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. By Elmers request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in memory may be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Charity of Choice.
