Obituary

HILTZ, Elsie Eva-91 of Kingston passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Kingston, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Robert and Eldora (Dorey) Bruce. Elsie was the last remaining member of the Bruce family. She was a member of the Kingston United Baptist Church where she served on the Visitation and Decorating Committees and was also a member of the Seniors Federation of Kingston. She enjoyed all sports-swimming, skating, horses, gardening, books, travelling and writing until her eyesight failed in 2002. Elsie loved her family, especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, James Richard (Leslie) and their children, Dougie and Patrick; Jeff (Tish) and their children, Jordan, Jenny and Justin; Michael (Nadine) and their daughter, Katelyn; Angela, Derek and Andrew (Stacey) and their daughter, Kariya. Elsie is survived by daughter-in-law, Judy (Lightizer) Hiltz, Greenwood Square; and special nieces, Joan Baron, Middleton and Jean Hartlin, Truro. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Roy Hiltz; sons, Sharon Lee and Bruce LeRoy; sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, Myrtle, Hazel and Rosie and brothers, Charles, Kingsley, Perley and Emery. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Elsie's life will be held 2:00PM Monday March, 18, 2013 at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Kingston United Baptist Church or charity of choice.
