Symonds, Elvira Corrine – 94, Wolfville, formerly of Middleton, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 in Shannex- Blomidon Court, Greenwich surrounded by love. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Nettie Nickerson.

In her early years, Elvira worked at the Royal Bank in Clarks Harbour. After moving to Middleton, NS, she worked at the Annavale Co-op for close to 15 years. Earlier in life, Elvira attended the Church of the Nazarene and later on she attended the Pentecostal Church in Middleton.

Elvira loved her sudoku books. She was a passionate gardener and spent every waking hour she could tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. All the family reaped the benefits of her gardening with baked and preserved goods on an ongoing basis.

Surviving are her sons, Thomas (Diane) Symonds, Woods Harbour; Peter (Cheryl) Symonds, Woods Harbour; Stacey (Sandra) Symonds, Wolfville; grandchildren, Michael (Waitie), Pamela (Ronnie), Jocelyn (Tim), Thomas Owen (Rhonda), Samantha (Tyler); great grandchildren, Owen (Kennedy), Douglas (Kaydence),  Lynsay (Julian), Kennedy (Tanner), Caleb, Natalie, Benjamin (Hope), Sadie; great great grandchildren, Gracie and Fisher.

Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, George Ethelbert, and brother, Clinton Nickerson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Mark Collins, Fonthill, Ontario, officiating. A reception will follow the service and interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.

The family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the amazing staff at Blomidon Court for all their love and care of Nanny.
