Obituary

KELLOUGH, Emma Frances ~ Age 107, of Bridgetown, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal. Born on October 18, 1917, in Digby, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Surrette) DeViller.
She was just months away from her 108th birthday. Mae, (as she was known by) was a beloved wife of the late Robert Marsden Kellough. Born in 1917, she was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Cora DeViller of Arcadia, Yarmouth, NS. Mae was the loving mother of the late Joseph (Dianna) Kellough, Kingston, NS; Marilyn Kellough, Port Mouton, NS; and Douglas (Carolyn) Kellough, Charlottetown, PE. She will always be cherished by her grandchildren, Robyn (Aron), Amanda, Craig (Katrina), and Kyle (Danielle); great grandchildren, Emily, Liam, Anna, Maeva, Jacob and Jaxon. Mae is survived by her sisters, Jean Harte, Louisbourg, NS; Irma Bourque, Cambridge Station, NS; brother, Alfred DeViller, Coldbrook, NS; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by brothers, Gerald, Lester (Mike), Herman, Arnold, and sisters, Eileen Pothier and Aleta Gauthier.
Mae was an avid bowler as well as an active lifetime member of the United Church of Canada and volunteered for many organizations.
Over the years, she spent many hours sewing and quilting and was extremely honored and proud to be asked by her granddaughter Amanada, to make her the prom dress of her dream. Besides being "spicy" and "quick witted", everyone knew her for her fashions, "especially her hats". Her house was always filled with the smell of baking and was known for her donuts. On her 100th birthday, CBC reporter, Coleen Jones, interviewed Mae.  Mae, not missing a beat, had Coleen help her make donuts.
She cherished her time spent, with her family and friends, memories that will not be forgotten.
A special thank you to her beloved friend Helen Balcom, for making quality time to spend with mom. You will always be a part of our family. Also, to the staff at Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, for their special care and patience during mom's time there.

On August 2nd 2025, Interment for the family will take place at 11:00, in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille   Annapolis Co. NS. , followed by a celebration of life, 2pm to 4pm at the Bridgetown Fire Hall, Bridgetown, NS
