LOCAL CONTRACTOR PASSES AWAY BALTZER, Eric Warren - 67, Wilmot, Annapolis Co., passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of Geraldine F. (Saunders) (Baltzer) Jackson (and her husband Paul Jackson), Middleton, and the late Warren M. Baltzer. Eric was always well known for being a hard worker, in his early years working with his father and painting houses. He had briefly worked in western Canada, then as a Merchant Marine with Fundy Gypsum of Hantsport, then with United Van Lines and later became a carpenter. Eric then owned his business, Eric Baltzer Builders Ltd. For the last 20 years he and his wife worked for Canada Mortgage & Housing, Ki Knu Housing & Cobequid Housing of Truro doing home repairs and renovations from Avonport to Meteghan areas. In his spare time, Eric enjoyed gardening, time spent with friends in his garage known as the "Tea House" and going to dances. He loved meeting friends and workers at Tim Hortons or McDonalds for coffee and watching WWF Wrestling. Eric loved his family around him and was proud to belong to a five generation family. Besides his mother and step-father he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda M. (Saunders) Baltzer, Wilmot; daughters, Lisa Baltzer, Cambridge; Carol Baltzer, Middleton; son, Michael Baltzer (Cassandra Ward), Wilmot; grandsons, Allen and Ryan Haayer, Cambridge; great-grandson, Ryder Baltzer, Wilmot; sisters, Dianne (Dale) Sellers, Halls Harbour; Bonnie Misner (Kim Banks), Lower Rose Bay; brother, Scott (Christine) Baltzer, Greenwood; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Marjorie Saunders, Berwick; brothers-in-law, Murray (Donna) Saunders, South Berwick; Laurie (Suzanne) Saunders, Berwick. Besides his father, he was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy and Reginald Baltzer. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00PM, Monday, in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448, from where the funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, May 6. Pastor Linda Davidson officiating, with a reception to follow. Burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
