Obituary

PINNER, Eric Leslie "Sonny" – Age 73, of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Monday, May 28, 2018, at home. Born on August 7, 1944, in Yarmouth, he was a son of Ruth S. (Lambert) Pinner, of Yarmouth, and the late Eric Pinner. Sonny began working at the early age of 12 and remained a hard worker all of his life. He had worked in farming for many years beginning with Herman VanHattem's dairy farm. Sonny had a life-long love for horses, in particular attending exhibitions with his beloved work horses, Bonnie and June. He had taken many folk in the area on wagon and sleigh rides. Pam and Sonny were well known for operating Pinners One Stop (Petro Canada) in Berwick for many years, and will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. Surviving are daughters, Heather (Roger) Wellwood, East Dalhousie; Karleen (Rick) Balsor; Lisa (Kyle) Pinner; sons, Stephen (Angela) Pinner, Aylesford; Christopher (Cindy) Pinner, Berwick; Kevin (Korene) Pinner; Shannon (Emily) Arenburg; Byron (Nerissa) Pinner, all of Aylesford; grandchildren, Corey, Nicole, Andrew, Justin, Dillon, Thenaha, Cassandra, Shianne, Allan, David, Robert, Jena, Caleigh, Sean, Matthew, Graydon and Liam; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Donnie (Dot) Pinner, Plympton; Ralph (Mary) Pinner, Mood Mills Road; Robert (Norma) Pinner, Beaver River; sisters, Ruth "Tooty" Harrington, Cheboque; Bonnie (David) Fraser, Cheboque; several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, the former Pamela Jean Little; sister, Doris Pinner; brother-in-law, Clarence Harrington. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a Memorial service that will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, June 4, in Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Chad Clements officiating, with a reception to follow at the Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall. Interment at a later date in Aylesford Union Cemetery.
