Obituary

Ernest LeRoy Robinson, 89, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, in Kentville, at the Valley Regional Hospital . He was born on February 6, 1936, in Morden, Nova Scotia, Ernest, affectionately known as Roy, led a fulfilling life marked by adventure and service.

Roy dedicated 11 years to the military, as a leading aircraftsman where he honed his skills and discipline. His military career was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his dedication and resilience.

Beyond his military service, Roy had a profound passion for horses. He spent many years training and showing horses, managing a riding camp, and leading trail rides. He was also the president of the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada and later was inducted into the Appaloosa Horse Club Hall of Fame. In his later years, he developed a keen interest in breeding Border Collies, a pursuit that brought him much joy and companionship.

Roy's life was also rich in family connections. He is survived by his children, Allan (Tanya), Nicholsville; Bruce (Jacquie), Clarence and Sherry (Glenn), Coldbrook; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His brothers, Bernard, and Gordon (Donna), also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Hazel, and his siblings, Roseanne, Mary, Jack, and Cecil.

A graveside service, reserved for family will be held to honour Roy's life, with a reception to follow. Middleton Funeral Home in Middleton, NS, is assisting the family during this time.

Roy's legacy is carried forward by his adventurous spirit and the deep bonds he forged with both family and friends. His life's journey, underscored by his love for animals and commitment to service, will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
