GREENE, Eugene Harry Gene-83 of Nictaux, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, he was a son of the late Harry and Annie (Wadman) Greene. Gene retired from Thompsons Transfer after 34 years. He had previously worked for TRA; Canadian Canners and G.N. Reagh & Sons. He was a past member of the Mid-Valley CB Club. Gene loved his family dearly, especially all the grandchildren and he also loved bowling, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Cora Coleman; daughters, Anna (Earl) Goski, Kingston, NS; Susan (D. Gordon) Gamble, Kingston Peninsula, NB; Janet (Jeff) Holmyard, Barrie, ON; Kathey (Richard) Carey, Nictaux; sons, Allen (Louise) Greene and Jack (Brenda) Greene, both of Nictaux; brother, Clarence (Pat) Greene, Nictaux; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Frances Wagner and Irene Magee-Lutz; brothers, George and Ronald and granddaughter, Jennifer Gamble. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00PM, Sunday, August 1, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448, Pastor Lester Simpson officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. By request please dress casual - no ties and family flowers only.
