Marguerite Todd
January 24, 1916 – November 11, 2010
TODD, Evelyn Marguerite Peggy- of Bridgetown, NS passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2010 at Oakwood Terrace in Dartmouth at 94 yr. young! She was born in Smiths Cove, NS on Jan. 24, 1916; the youngest child of Robert Burns Cossett and Edith (Snow) Cossett. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, infant son David, her beloved husband and best friend, Ted Todd (1979), chosen daughter Joyce Banks (2009), and her siblings: Avard, Hazel, Herman, Eleaneor, Arthur, Bertha, Harold, Violet, and John. Left to celebrate her life with treasured memories and stories are son Jim Todd (Judi), son-in-law Murray Banks, grandchildren Heather Todd (Sean Hand), Hilary Todd, Angie Banks, Coleen (Banks) Lawlor (John), great grandchildren Austin & Nicole Lawlor, Caleb & Ethan Hand, and many nieces and nephews. Peggys spirit will ever be with us as she continues to guide us as we attempt to be half the cook she was, or half the gardener. She spent most of her life caring for and giving to others ~ as a wife and mother, hairdresser, and caregiver to the elderly in her home, a labour of love she and Ted shared. We celebrate Peggys life and are grateful that she is at peace. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all who cared for Peggy during her 2 years at Oakwood Terrace. The doctors, the nurses of Units A & B, the kitchen staff and housekeeping staff all treated us like family with genuine caring and concern. You made these last days bearable. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held in Bridgetown at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Honouring Peggys love of all animals, donations can be made in Peggys name to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter in Dartmouth, NS. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Online condolences may be made through: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
