POWERS (Hiltz) Evelyn Arleen ~ Age 87, Windermere, Kings Co., passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, with her husband, Linton and son, Mark by her side. Born on March 2, 1934, in Berwick, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Wallace and Myrtle (Prime) Hiltz. Survived by her husband of 71 years, Linton Powers, who she married on October 21, 1950. They have six children, Judy Powers-Mansfield, Cambridge; Christopher (deceased); Carol Sue Baxter-Nixon (Mark), Margaretville; Cindy Crocker (David), Black Rock; Mark Powers (Jeannie), North Alton; Angel Martin (Peter), Berwick; grandchildren, Robert Troy and Tracey Stoddart; Cody and Jessica Baxter; Gabriel (Danielle) and Amanda Crocker (Stacy); Kelly Carter (Dean); Robyn Martin (Nathan); John and Tracey Silver; Melanie Morse; great grandchildren, Lyndsey and Danielle Stoddart; Brodie and Tanner Carter; Dawsyn, Cameron, Ryane, Shawn, Charlotte, Ellie and Cash Crocker; Ryley Parrish; Dexter Smith; Sophie and Chase Morton; Savannah Silver; Birch and Finch Morse; great great grandchildren, Ezra Pond; Luca Parrish; sisters and brothers, Benny Hiltz (Marg); Bernice Pickerton (Bob); Doris Craig (Bud); Reginald and Noel Hiltz. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Frances MacMillan (Glen); Shirley Drew (Marshall); Vivian Lee (Leslie); Leslie Hiltz (Nora). Evelyn was a lifetime member of the South Berwick Women's Institute and South Berwick Community Club, member of the Berwick United Church, where she was a member of U.C.W., the Board of Stewards and taught Sunday School for 24 years. She also was a Brownie and Sparks Leader, and taught at Vacation Bible School for 18 years in Petite Riviere in Lunenburg Co. Evelyn and Linton spent many years camping with their dog "Baby Girl" who was a big part of her life during the summer months until she couldn't go anymore. Her gift was her love for children and no matter where she went or if they came to her house she always made time for them. Evelyn would always have a treat for the little ones. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Funeral service with limited seating will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, in Berwick United Church, 240 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Tom Woods officiating, with interment in Berwick Cemetery. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, it is now required to show proof of ID and full vaccination at visitations as well at indoor and outdoor ceremonies. For those unable to attend the service there will be a livestreaming of the service available at 1:55 p.m., ADT Saturday, October 16, by selecting the 'livestream' option at the top of the funeral home webpage.
