Obituary

CONNELL, Everett Hartley - age 94 of Nictaux passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton he was the son of the late William "Bill" and Harriet "Hattie" (Schofield) Connell. Everett was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by brothers, Gordon and Russell; sisters, Marjorie Smith, Ardeth McGrath, Agnus Ring, and Eleanor Lloyd; and his former wife, Geneva (Nickerson) Connell - separated. Everett joined the Canadian Army in 1940 with The West Nova Scotia Regiment and went overseas in 1942 serving in the United Kingdom, Italy and Sicily. He returned to Canada in 1946 where he was employed with Maritime Tel and Tel for a number of years before going to the United States where he was a member of The American Legion. On returning to Canada, Everett resided in Nictaux. He was a kind soul who was loved by many including numerous nieces and nephews and all those who cared for him while he was at home. Everett will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and Rev. Bill McLeod will be officiating at a graveside service on Thursday, November 17, at 11 am at the Nictaux Cemetery, Nictaux. Family flowers only, donations may be made to any charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448.
