GRANT, Fern Dorothy -55 of Clarence, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Gervin Stewart and Norva (Timbury) Oliver. Fern was a member of the Clarence Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school and being involved with church activities. She enjoyed crafts and the outdoors. Fern dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rodney Grant, daughters, Norva (Steven) Bent, Port Lorne; Heather (Jimmy) Reay, Bridgetown; sister, Nancy (Robbie) MacDonald, New Minas; brothers, Bruce (Mary Anne) Oliver and George (Shirley) Oliver, both of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Damion Bent; Chelsey Reay; Austin Bent; Destine Reay; Mickaela Bent and mother-in-law, Matilda Grant, Berwick. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Trudy, brother Gerry and father-in-law, Freeman Grant. Visitation will be held from 2-4PM and 7-9PM on Monday, August 30, 2010 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Clarence Baptist Church, Rev. John Beers and Pastor Jim Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery.
