September 12, 1955 – February 9, 2025
Florence (Flo) Elizabeth Miller, age 69 of Wilmot Station. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Flo after her battle with cancer on February 9th, 2025. Born September 12th, 1955, in Terrance Bay to the late Francis and Eileen (Cochrane) Countaway. Flo was a mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness love and generosity will be profoundly missed.
Flo spent most of her life working in the fields of the Annapolis Valley harvesting crops. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years, having been involved in a few different legions, Bridgetown & Lawrencetown, Kingston BR 98 is where she served most of her years. Flo was an active member, in many ways, always willing to volunteer for any task. Flo was a huge wrestling fan, never missing an episode. She loved her game shows and her online euchre club. In her spare time, Flo loved to play bingo, and her passion was darts. She competed in many different provincial playdowns, even bringing home the "trophy" on many different occasions with her "girls."
Flo is survived by her sister Teresa Countaway of Spryfield; children Andy Weagle, New Waterford; Kerry Winch, Langley BC; Derek McKay, Colton; her soul sister, as it's not always blood that makes a sister, Sandi Brittain, Greenwood; special niece Wendy Fleet, New Minas; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Anthony, and Damien. Her pride and joy, her fur baby Stella. Many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Flo was predeceased by the love of her life, Frank (Micky) Wright; Brothers, Andrew, Charlie, Jimmy, Richard-John; Sisters, Anna and Margaret. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Middleton funeral home. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98, Kingston. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to the Carry Me Fund or Royal Canadian Legion Branch 98.
A special thank you to Dawn Acker and her family for your devotion and dedication, going above and beyond taking extra special care of Flo. You truly were her rock and security. Thank you to all VON services. The palliative team, Dr Burch, Dr. Burgess, and an extra special thank you to the palliative nurse Janet Welton, you are a true hero.
