Obituary

LEWIS, Floyd Thomas MCpl (Ret'd) ~ Age 85 passed away peacefully at home, Thursday August 12, 2021. Born in Port Lorne, NS, June 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred Spurgeon and Elizabeth (Sabean) Lewis. Floyd is the last member of his family. After serving in the Canadian Airforce for 25 years, he retired to his hobby farm in South Williamston. When he wasn't there, you could find him at the Lawrencetown Exhibition supervising the grounds crew for a time or at the Youth Arena with Jean, sharpening skates, clearing the ice, and breaking up the odd ruckus. He was a slight man, but well respected. After hanging up his hat from those extra jobs he had more time to tend to his cows and spending time with his granddaughters. Floyd is survived by his son, Darald (Teresa), South Williamston, granddaughters, Cassidy and Rianna both of Wolfville. He was predeceased by his loving wife Loretta "Jean" (Mallot); sisters, Lucinda, Alice, Jessie, Goldie, Rena; brothers, Stewart, Alfred and Paul in infancy. There will be a Graveside Service 11:00AM Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown with Pastor Tony Stoddart officiating.  Donations in Floyd's memory can be made to Annapolis Valley Exhibition, Lawrencetown or charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Amanda Smith, Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Continuing Care, special caregiver, Cathy Cranton, First Responders and Middleton Funeral Home for their compassion and care during this time.
