BROWN, Frances Susan "Fran" - age 89, of New Germany, formerly of Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Natick, Massachusetts, she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Adella (Fisher) Meagher and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Frances spent her childhood in Goffs on the old Guysborough Road. She married her beloved Cliff just after the Second World War and spent the next 30 years travelling in Canada and Europe courtesy of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Frances is survived by her daughter, Kerry (Karl) Hicks, Dominion; sons, Garry (Joy), Bridgetown; Les (Alexandra), Halifax; granddaughters, Susi (Craig) Spicer , Kati (Ryan) Luknowsky and Laura Hicks ; grandsons, Karl Hicks , Robert Brown , Adam (Frances) Brown and Zach a ry Brown and great grandchildren , Roland, Riley, Tessa, Petra, Ronin, Patrick, Ava, and Emerson . She was predeceased by her husband, Cliff; son, Clifford; an infant son; and grandson, Stephen. Frances was a resident of New Germany for the past 12 years and had been a resident of Lake Pleasant, Annapolis County, for 37 years. She was a member of the Epworth United Church, a Meritorious Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #102 New Germany and a past member of various local volunteer organizations. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and Royal Canadian Legion Tribute and celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #102, 44 Varner Rd., New Germany on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 2:00 pm . Open to all legion members and the general public. Interment will be in St. Andrews United Church Cemetery, Elderbank, at a later date, for family members only.
