Spencer, Francis (Frank) Edward - 84 of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015 in Annapolis Health Center, Annapolis Royal, NS. Born in New Glasgow NS, he was the son of the late William and Georgette (Vandenborre) Spencer. He retired from the RCAF after 31 years of service. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and later on when unable to walk the woods, would drive the fire roads to "hunt". He was involved with minor hockey, soccer, Annapolis Valley Old Timers, golfing and official skate sharpener long after his own children were grown and gone. A loving husband and father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife Marie Jeanne "Jean" (Surette) of 59 years; daughters Marleen Spencer, Lower Sackville, NS, Sonya (Girard) Spencer, Deer Lake NL; sons, Richard Spencer, Medicine Hat, AB, Lee (Charlene) Spencer, Medicine Hat, AB; sisters Mary Lou Graves, Kelowna BC and Lorraine Spencer, Minto, NB; sister-in-law Marjorie Spencer, Greenwood NS and grandchildren Joey, Richard Tyler, Ashley, Alexander, Jacob, Nicholas, Justin, Katelyn, 4 great grandchildren and many loving family and friends. Frank was predeceased by brothers, Morris, Richard and Ernest (Ernie). Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Monday July 27, 2015 at Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood, Father Rory MacDonald officiating. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mid-Valley Palliative Care, Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or charity of your choice.
