Francis "Frank" Gower Kennedy 76 - from Kingston passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 10th, 2017 at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Corner Brook NL on December 23, 1940, he was the son of the late James and Ruth (Farnell) Kennedy.
Frank spent 30 fulfilling years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and 9 years in the private sector in the aeronautic field. His tenure with the RCAF took him all across Canada, Europe and other countries. The highlights of his career were the time spent in Europe.
Frank was a happy positive person enjoying life. An ardent golfer, he kept his clubs always polished ready for a game. When not on the golf course he was busy planning his next travel adventures. As one would say Frank was a "globetrotter".
Frank is survived by his wife Micheline of 40 years; daughter Carol Lee (Gino Short) AB; son Paul BC; grand-daughter Candice; grand-son Morgan; brother Bert (Marlene) ON; brother John (Maureen) NL; sister-in-law Lucie (Richard) Tremblay ON; brother-in-law Gaston Pedneault (Louise) QC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Paul McGuire for his devoted care during Frank's illness.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service followed by a reception to be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday December 17th, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Paul Jennings officiating.
