HAZEL, Françoise "Fran", "Nany" as her grandchildren fondly knew her ~ age 68 of Baxters Harbour, NS passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at home with her loving husband by her side. Born in Montréal, Québec, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Rita (Douville) Fontaine. Fran loved her family dearly and they were the focus of her life. She loved cooking, knitting, sewing, spending time on her computer, and 'smart' shopping. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 49 years, James "Jim"; daughter, Nancy (Pierre) Hazel-Simard, Baxters Harbour; son, James Hazel Jr., Alberta; grandchildren, Alexandre Hazel (Selena Lynk), Port Williams; Keyven, Cindy, Matthew and Jonathan Hazel-Simard, Baxter's Harbour; Jimmy Hazel the 3 ^rd and Joey Hazel, both of Alberta; great-granddaughter Brinley, Port Williams; brother Fernand Fontaine, St. Julie, Québec; nieces, Annie Fontaine, Sophie Fontaine; nephew Alexandre Fontaine. Besides her parents, Fran was predeceased by sister-in-law, Suzanne and grandson, Petit Simard in infancy. In keeping with Fran's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 17, 2020 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. Middleton toll free 1-855-825-3448 where Covid-19 provincial gathering restrictions only allow attendance for a maximum of 75 family and invited friends.  In keeping with health safety protocols, face masks and social distancing must be followed.
