Obituary

Fowler, Frank William – 96, of Wilmot, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late George and Lydia Fowler. Frank was a recruiter and financial clerk with CFB in Dartmouth, St John's and Winnipeg, and in 1972 after becoming an Accredited Public Accountant, joined CFB Winnipeg's base comptroller's office as an internal auditor until his retirement. Frank remained in Winnipeg for several years after retirement, travelling by car to Texas and back east, playing golf and watching baseball and in 2000 he returned home to Nova Scotia. 'Grampy' was also an avid reader and stamp collector and loved to curl and play baseball in his younger years and retained his love for curling by driving to many cities in Canada to attend the Brier championship. Since returning to Nova Scotia in 2000, he faithfully made the trip back to Winnipeg by car at Christmas time until forced to stop in 2020. Surviving are his sons, Ken, British Columbia; Mark, Winnipeg, Manitoba; grandson, Kevin; granddaughter, Meaghan; brothers Roger, Middleton; Clive, St. John, NB; Neville, Ontario. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother Kathleen, daughter Lynn; son Dave; and brother John. A private interment service will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.
