Frank Daniel
Lee
March 9, 1937 – August 4, 2022
LEE, Frank Daniel ~ Age 85, of Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully, with family by his side, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia, on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Frank was born in 1937, in St. Henry, Quebec. The second of four children, Frank began his professional life at the Montreal Gazette and then continued his career journey to Consumer Glass. Frank met the love of his life, Shirley and they married in 1958. Together, they purchased a hobby farm in Havelock, Quebec, and began their adventure in fruit farming. This home would be host to many family celebrations, friendly visits and two Newfoundlander pups that stole their hearts. Inspired to take on farming full-time, Frank and Shirley pulled up stakes and made the move to Aylesford, Nova Scotia. With hundreds of acres of trees, their farm grew, as did their involvement in their local community. While in Aylesford, Frank joined the Board of Directors of the Apple Grower's Association. Frank and Shirley eventually sold the farm and opted for a quieter life. Not quite ready to settle into retirement, Frank picked up a local mail delivery route. Eventually, Frank opened a convenience store in Halifax, which he thoroughly enjoyed. When he was ready, Frank took the time to relax and enjoy life in a lovely neighbourhood in Berwick, Nova Scotia. He was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, Berwick. Frank leaves behind a legacy of love, respect, kindness, and a wonderful sense of adventure that will be sorely missed. He will be remembered with love by his family, his friends, and his parish. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Deloras Lee; 26 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former Shirley Barnes; sisters, Patricia (Ted) Mangnall and Margaret (Clyde) Willard; brother, Gerry Lee. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2022, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Mill St., Berwick, with Rev. Father Michael Walsh officiating. Interment will follow in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Diabetes Canada. The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Valley Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Frank.
