Obituary

ILLSLEY, Frederick Reginald ~ 92, formerly of Cambridge and Brickton, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton, NS. Born in North Williamston, Annapolis Co., N.S., he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Sellers) Illsley. Fred worked for Thompsons Transfer, for 33 years prior to his retirement. He was a proud member of the Lawrencetown Men's Choir and Lawrencetown & District Lions Club. Fred was known as a hard worker, an enthusiastic storyteller, a dependable friend, a man of integrity, honesty and kindness but above all this he was known for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. Fred is survived by his second wife, Marion; children, Kathy, Bryan (Alison), Richard (Darlene) and Michael (April); Marion's children, Margo, Brenda (Ron) and Shelley (Doug). Fred is survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, also numerous nieces and nephews. Fred is survived by siblings, Jean, Frank and Nancy. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his first wife, Laura; brothers, Gerald, Gordon, David and Charlie; sisters Freda and Joyce. Memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10 , in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Pastor Andrew Taylor officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown .
