November 10, 1963 – April 20, 2024
Freeman Ronald "Paul" Curtis, born in Come By Chance, Newfoundland, on November 10, 1963 passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice in Kentville, Nova Scotia on April 20, 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife Brigitte (Vaillancourt) Curtis, devoted daughter Amanda Wilson and her husband Jeffrey Wilson, cherished son Jeremy Curtis and his wife Katelyn (Wagorn) Curtis, and adored grandchildren Emmitt and Lincoln Curtis. He is also survived by his brother Terry Curtis and wife Diane (Frost) Curtis, sister Beverley (Curtis) Cook and husband Mark Cook, nieces and nephews, and other extended family. Paul was predeceased by his late father Freeman Curtis, mother Loretta (Blundon) Curtis, and brother Eliab Curtis.
Paul celebrated his 60th birthday on November 10, 2023, marking a milestone in a life filled with love and adventure. He shared 37 years of marriage with Brigitte, creating countless memories together. Paul was a proud veteran, having served his country with honor during his military career.
After his military service, Paul pursued his passion for woodworking, completing the cabinet making course at NSCC and becoming a respected woodworking educator at Bonnie Lea Farm. His craftsmanship and dedication to his craft left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved nothing more than traveling across North America, indulging in road treks, fishing trips, and other outdoor adventures. He loved golfing with his wife and family, doing everything he could to win the game. There was never a prize, but he always wanted the bragging rights. He had a keen eye for photography and enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature wherever he went.
Paul's warm and welcoming nature endeared him to all who knew him. He took great joy in planning and hosting events, always eager to bring people together and create lasting memories. He was particularly proud of his role as a grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Paul's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.
