Obituary

MEISTER, Fronie ~ Age 80, of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019, peacefully at home. Born in Botwood, NL, she was a daughter of the late James F. "Jim" and Amy E. (Canning) Butler.

Fronie was larger than life and was well known in the community. She was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.  Fronie enjoyed her weekly bingo nights with long-time friend, Jeannie Jones, as well as years of creating beautiful Christmas crafts with her dear friend the late, Freda Small. She taught her family to go without to help others and to have a strong sense of what it means to be a family. Children and adults alike in her community are feeling a strong sense of loss as Fronie has touched many hearts with her generosity of giving to anyone who walked through her door.

Surviving are daughters, Jackie Meister (David), Aylesford; Betty Hadley, Bridgewater; Susan Meister, Aylesford; sons, George Meister, Morristown; Earl Meister (Denise), and Guy Meister (Charlene), both of Aylesford; son-in-law, Rodney Wiley, Kingston; granddaughters, Robyn Hadley (Brent), Dartmouth; Bria Hadley, Halifax; Amy Morse (Aaron), Aylesford; Isabelle Meister, Aylesford; Michelle Meister, Toronto, Ont.; grandsons, Frank Wiley, Kingston; Tommy Wiley, Spain; Sandy Meister (Dayla) and Nathan Meister, both of Aylesford; great-grandchildren, Hank Wiley, Berwick; and Gabriel Hall, Dartmouth; sister, Betty Romaine (Andy), Prince Edward Island; brother, Gerald Butler (Ann), Newfoundland. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario, including her favourite niece, Charlene Peel Muise, of Auburn. Not to forget Twinkle, her cat and constant companion, who is missing Fronie greatly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William E. "Bill" Meister; daughters, Cathy Meister and Ida Meister-Wiley; great grandson, Gage Meister; sisters, Ruby Barry; Hearsey Hiltz; Margaret Legere; Bonnie Butler; and Lila Peel; brothers, Ted and Kalvin Butler.
