HENDERSHOT, Gail Anne ~ Age 84, of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at home. Born on July 6, 1941, in Hamilton, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred V. and Gladys E. (McDermott) Howard. Gail had been employed at a Dominion Grocery Store in Ontario, where she had met her husband. She later worked at Aramark Food Service at Michelin Tire. Gail took a keen interest in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always attending their plays, concerts and sporting events whenever possible. She was a great lover of her many dogs over the years. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Robert L. “Bob” Hendershot; children, Cindy (Mark) Best and Brian (Martina) Hendershot, both of Cambridge; grandchildren, Robbie (Caitlyn), Amanda (James), Michael (Jocelyn). Michelle (Andrew), Brandon and Meghan; great grandchildren, Emmitt, Everly, Alexis, Brooke, Brennan, Cooper, Easton, Harper, Summer, Sophie and Jordon; sister, Lynn “Skippy” Cholette of Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Margaret Edit; brother, Hughie Howard. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Thursday evening in Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial Street, Berwick, from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 10. Rev. Layton MacDonald officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery.
