Gary Lawson of Margaretsville passed away January 9, 2016 in Collingwood Ontario.  He was 72 years old. We found out shortly after we arrived in Ontario that he had a sudden onset of incurable Leukemia.   At his passing his wife Pat and daughters Kelly and Kerry were with him - telling him they loved him and they will take care of each other when he can no longer look after us.  Gary was ready to go to heaven and be with loved ones who have passed before him.  His one wish was to return to Margaretsville but he knew that couldn't be.  Gary had great faith and belief in the goodness of God.   Our church family at All Saints Kingston were a great support through a rough time. There was a funeral in Ontario performed by our friend and priest who  married us.  We had so many blessings and support from friends new and old and family who came to visit and remember old times with him in the last days.  Gary was well known for his friendly smile, he knew everybody and cared about everyone he met.  He was also well known for being the first to be seen in shorts in the spring and last to go to long pants in the fall.  He loved to spend time watching them fish at the wharf, sitting at the lighthouse,  and walking the beach.  He spent many days watching the horse pulls around the province.  He will be with his brother  - fishing in that great trout fishing lake up yonder.  He is missed at the Greenwood gym - I still look for him up in the corner riding the bike.  Superstore must have noticed a downturn in profits since he has not been there.  Our great times camping and exploring Nova Scotia back roads are precious memories.  His girls and grandsons were his pride and joy - his love will be with you forever.  He is our guardian angel now.

There will be a Memorial Gathering in the Margaretsville Community Hall on July 5th 2016 at 1PM.   We will take a walk to the beach and have a final toast to Gary. Refreshments to follow.
