MORTON, Gary Arthur – Age 68, of Oxford, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly, at home, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Born in Berwick, on June 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Harry and Agnes (Fredericks) Morton of Woodville. After graduating from the Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro, he returned to Woodville and worked as an insurance adjuster. Gary's most meaningful employment was when he co-owned and operated D & G Horse Stables in Wilmot. Later in life, Gary moved to Oxford where he worked at Oxford Frozen Foods. He loved horses, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and his ice cream. For over 50 years, Gary attended many horse shows and exhibitions as a rider, instructor, course designer, judge, spectator, and even a stall mucker. He leaves behind his beloved dogs, Spanky, Pee Wee, and Maggie, and his two miniature horses, Chance and Chase. Surviving are his sister, Nancy (Vernon) Coldwell, South Berwick; brother, James (Jocelyn) Morton, Windermere; nephew, Mark (Lisa Sabean) Coldwell, Berwick; nephew, Barry (Samantha Parker) Coldwell, Berwick; Justin (Eric Lin) Morton, Richmond, British Columbia; niece, Katelyn Morton, Factorydale; great-nieces, Madelyn, Brianna, and Lexie; great-nephew, Mason; stepdaughter, Sherry Allen, and her son, Seth, Oxford Junction; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gary was predeceased by his parents and former wife, Diane Tattrie-Morton. All are welcome to attend Gary's Celebration of Life, Sunday, September 30, 2018 , 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Woodville Community Centre, 342 Bligh Road, Woodville. Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, Autism Nova Scotia, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, Middleton, NS, B0S 1P0, 1-855-825-3448.
