Age 55, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 26, 2018 at his home in Freeport, Nova Scotia. Born April 10, 1962, he was the son of the late Merrill Vernon Stanton. He is survived by his mother Judy Ann (Hartlen) Stanton, Freeport, NS; his children Cameron Jospeh Guptill (Hillary Jess), Wilmot, NS; Sara Harvey (Chad), Baker Lake, NU; and Kelsey McCullough (Halifax); grandson Hudson Harvey, Baker Lake, NU; sisters, Joyce Moore (Allan), Freeport, NS; Patsy Stanton (Steve Laugher) Tiverton, NS; Sharon Stanton, Yarmouth, NS; Melinda Penney (Mike Barry, Maine; Brenda Stanton (Steve Morrell), Digby, NS; brother, Vernon Stanton (Ella Hanshaw), Westport, NS; and many nieces and nephews. He was a hard working man who operated his own construction business for over 25 years. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 92 Freeport, Nova Scotia. He was an active member in the community, a friend to all and he was always there to help anyone in need. He was deeply loved and will be missed by both family and friends. There will be no visitation or service upon request of family. A celebration of his life will take place in June 2018 at Beautiful Cove, Freeport, NS with a reception to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448.
