George Sebert
Hirtle
July 17, 1929 – August 20, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, George Sebert Hirtle, 94, of Inglisville, N.S. on August 20th. Born in Middleton to Ernest and Ethel (Naugler) Hirtle, he resided in Inglisville for 89 of his 94 years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Eva (Demone) , son, Brian (Dolly), Frankville, daughters Beth (Bud) Fairn, Granville Centre, Brenda (David) Mailman, South Williamston and sister-in-law, Reta (Bible Hill). He is also survived by grandchildren: Tiffany, Trina, Josh, Leah and Emily, two step-grandchildren, Kristen and Tracy, four great grandchildren and nine step great grand children.
He was predeceased by his brother, Alvin in 1994, precious daughter, Patricia in 1982 and beloved grandson, Adam, in 2006.
Dad was never happier as when he could go into the woods and cut firewood or plant a garden to feed his family and friends. He did both of these things last year, in his 93rd year, when he cut and piled five cord of firewood and planted and harvested a large garden. He read the "paper" everyday, was computer savvy and loved entertaining friends in his shop or Mom's kitchen.
We will always remember him for the love, support and guidance he gave to all of us. He was our biggest cheering section, no matter what our endeavours happened to be. He was especially close with each of his grandchildren, whether they were gathering sap for maple syrup, working together in his shop or discussing school or jobs.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Lawrencetown and District Swimming Pool Society P O Box 43, Lawrencetown, N.S. B0S1M0 or by etransfer to ltownpoolpayments@gmail.com. Cremation has taken place. A service and interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery at a later date. The online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
