Obituary

RAFUSE, George Allison - 72, Middleton, NS passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 in Grandview Manor, Berwick. Born in East Margaretsville, he was a son of the late Irene and Fred Rafuse. He was one of 6 children - Frances (Lawrence Gates); Lester (Joan Avery); Sharon (Ron Baker); Morton (Sharon) and Linda (Wayne Banks). He was predeceased by his parents, sister Frances and brother Lester. George worked as a young man up North in Labrador and later with Ivan MacMurtery in the Western Tire Store, Middleton. He also worked for Charles V. Chute Ltd, Ford Dealer and Sterling MacDonald's Maple Ford. He had his own used car dealership and established Rafuse Golf Car Ltd and South of the Border Auto Parts Ltd. Activities he enjoyed were boating, hunting, travelling and camping. He was a man of many talents, easily learned and never forgotten. A proud Dad and Grandfather. George is survived by his wife Arlene; sons, Kirk (Trish); Derrick "Bede" (Darlene) and daughter, Monique (Matt); grandchildren, Madison, Santanna and Tanner. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
