Obituary

Spinney, George Allan - 76 of Greenwood, Kings Co. NS, passed away surrounded by his family at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Middleton on October 25th, 2013. He was the son of George W. Spinney and Evangeline (Rockwell). George joined the RCAF in 1954 as an airframe tech until he retired in 1980. He then worked various jobs locally until taking a position at IMP as an airframe tech for 13 years until retiring. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Gerald, and son Gregory. He is survived by his wife Marilyn(MacDonald), daughter Joanna Ogletree (John) Kingston, NS; son Karry Spinney(Patti) Airdrie, Alberta; daughter Donna Janes (Rick) Beaverbank, NS; and a younger brother Howard Spinney (Diane) Lunenburg, NS. He's left behind what he always considered his precious grandchildren: Jason Osborne, Alicia Ogletree (Jason), Melanie Acker (Chris), Jeremy Ogletree (Lisa), Krista Ogletree, Ashley Tatlock (Jeff), and Demmie Janes (Martin). He was blessed to have known five great grandchildren Nicholas, Mackenzie, Ryland, Jacob and Isla. He was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Our world has been drastically changed with a lifeline to the heart of our family gone. We will see you in our dreams; and you will live in our hearts and memories always. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We would like to pass on our many thanks for all the condolences and give our thanks to Dr Yafai and the extremely supportive team at Soldier's Memorial Hospital. THANK YOU! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating with a reception to follow. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery. By request, family flowers only.
