PARENT, Gerald Bernard-59 of Kingston formerly of Paradise. It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Gerald "Gerry" Parent on March 10, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Born in Middleton, Gerry was a son of Alma (Ogden) Parent and the late Bernard "Bernie" Parent. Gerry grew up on North Street and loved to tell stories of those early days. He lived most of his later years in Millville, Kings County. Gerry's greatest love and source of pride was his family. He also enjoyed fishing and a good game of crib. Gerry was a Stationary Engineer, 3rd Class and most recently worked at Soldier's Memorial Hospital in Middleton. He also worked at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, National Sea, Lockport and Michelin, Waterville. Besides his mother, he is survived by his children, Stephanie, Greenwood; Melissa, Australia; Jason, Greenwood Square; Jennifer, Aylesford; Justin, Millville; Jasmine, Wolfville and Jared, Millville; grandchildren, Devon, Lauren, Jamal, Jacenia and Jovi; his only sister, Catherine "Cathy", Kingston, NS who lovingly cared for him in his final days; brothers, Barry (Diane), Lantz, NS; Jeffrey (Sandra), Richmond, BC and Gary and one niece and 8 nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by brother, Kirby and "Special Granny" Elsie Hill. There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton at a later date. Donations in Gerry's memory may be made to Valerie's Flutter Foundation.
